Independent Member for Clark, Andrew Wilkie, has forwarded RSL Tasmania’s letter addressed to Premier Jeremy Rockliff opposing the Macquarie Point stadium to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
“I believe the RSL’s letter adds constructively to my own representations to you opposing the proposal,” Mr Wilkie said in his covering letter. “Not only would a third Tasmanian AFL stadium be an egregious misuse of taxpayers’ money, and Macquarie Point too valuable a site to fill up with a footy field, the effect on Hobart’s world-class cenotaph would be a shocking betrayal of our veterans.”
