How anyone can take pleasure from shooting a duck is beyond me. Moreover, there’s simply no way to hunt ducks in a humane way because there will always be a significant margin of error, which means there will always be wounded creatures dying in agony and there will always be the risk of hunters hitting the wrong bird.
I call on the State Government to finally show some character and end this cruel slaughter by making this year’s duck hunting season the last. New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia banned the blood sport years ago. It’s barbaric, it’s unnecessary, and it should be outlawed in Tasmania as well.
