Independent Member for Clark, Andrew Wilkie, has joined fellow independents Kristie Johnston and Meg Webb to call for the inclusion of effective harm minimisation measures to the State Government’s poker machine laws.
“The State Government needs to re-write these laws to make them about harm minimisation, not profit maximisation for poker machine operators as they’re currently drafted,” Mr Wilkie said.
“On the eve of State Parliament, I’m joining my independent colleagues to also pressure Labor to come good on its promise to reduce the harm of poker machines. It’s way beyond time for the two major parties to show they care more about people than poker machine barons.”
