Marriage equality

Marriage equality

Andrew supports same-sex marriage and is a co-sponsor of the current cross-party Bill that would legalise the institution. He also respects the right of churches to choose who they marry and introduced a motion in the Parliament to that effect. Andrew has never supported holding a plebiscite or postal vote on marriage equality. Parliament should simply amend the Marriage Act, just as it did in 2004 when it limited marriage to between a man and a woman.
