The Independent Member for Denison, Andrew Wilkie, discussed the Government’s refusal to allow him to table further allegations about Crown Casino in Question Time today, and the Prime Minister’s refusal to support a parliamentary inquiry.
“We now have four whistleblowers and the allegations against Crown are increasing in number. These are serious matters and it beggars belief that neither the Government nor the Opposition have any interest in investigating them,” Mr Wilkie said.
“In any case I will at least send these latest allegations to Victoria Police.
“But it’s simply not good enough for the Prime Minister to say this is all someone else’s problem. This fourth whistleblower says he fears for his safety and personally pleaded on video for the Prime Minister to order a transparent parliamentary inquiry.
“It seems nothing unites the Liberal and Labor parties quicker that shielding the poker machine industry from public scrutiny. No wonder voters are turning off from the major parties.”
